This product is inserted into the tub drain with about ½ inch of the top exposed to catch the hair and allow the water to drop into the drain.
The hair catcher is limited to the size of the tub drain and it should be no wider than 1.5 inches. This product fits into the drain.
If you should have a shower instead of a tub shower, then using this product is not for you. You must use the ShowerShroom. Most shower drains today are 2-inches wide and the TubShroom is not wide enough to fit as it is 1 ½ inches wide.
Warning: This product cannot be used in all tub drains as each one may be different. This product works well when it’s about ½ inch above the surface of the tub. It will also not work for shower stall drains as those drains are wider than bathtub drains by ½ inch. You will need to use the ShowerShroom product which can be purchased below.

Basically the TubShroom fits any standard shower bathtub drain with a snug fit. As you shower, the hair collects neatly inside the drain around the bottom lip which is out of sight until you are ready to clean it off. As the hair is being collected you can shower as the water is going down the drain as normal.
The item is easy to clean about every few weeks or so. Eventually, the plug collects so much hair that the water may begin to backup. At which time you will need to remove it to clean it.

I have thick hip-length hair and I’ve always had issues clogging the tub drain so I’ve gone through a ton of different hair catchers and they don’t even compare to this one. I don’t need to clean the hair out mid-shower or even after 1 shower anymore. It’s not a perfect product and you will still get some water pooling after the hair builds up around the cylinder but it will still drain and not pool nearly as bad as with other products.
