Question: Can this machine grind fine enough for unpressurized espresso machines?
Answer: Yes, I use mine with an unpressurized portafilter and get perfect pulls at 25-30 seconds.
Question: How long does it to grind coffee?
Answer: It depends on the grind setting and number of cups selected and it will show the number of seconds it will run. If your coffee is too strong or weak you can override the time and hold the time button until it beeps twice to remember your custom setting. I personally grind a 2 shot espresso from my favorite beans directly into a portafilter at grind size 13 and currently set for 22.8 seconds. The last bag of same beans which were slightly less oily was set for 22.4 seconds. For drip grind just experiment by grinding into the container, measuring with a scoop until you get the grind and time properly dialed in for your favorite beans.
Question: What is involved in cleaning this machine?
Answer: Smart Grinder Pro should be maintained regularly by removing the unlock-able bean hopper and below it the upper grinding burr to clear the chamber of any residual beans and ground coffee, a brush is included for easy clean up. The exterior is stainless steel and high-quality plastic which can be wiped simply with a damp cloth.
Question: Can this grinder be used for grinding seeds like sunflower seeds?
Answer: No. This grinder has been tested using coffee grounds. It should be used only for that purpose.
